Day 0 - March 31
I start walking tomorrow. 230(ish) miles from Boston to New York City. Exactly 250 years ago, General Nathaniel Greene and several hundred soldiers marched out of Boston to New York. George Washington would follow a few days later. In recognition of the sacrifice of these men—and the women that followed them—I’m walking the same route.
I plan to update this blog daily with notes on my observations. Pictures. How I’m feeling. Most days won’t be coherent, probably just a splatter of my thoughts. There will probably be typos. Disjointed thoughts. But they’ll all be here to read for anybody that’s interested.
I was telling Daisy today that I’m not nervous about the walk. I’ve trained for it. Planned the route and the stops. I am, however, worried nobody will care. That this will have been a waste of time and a waste of money. Always the wiser one, she reminded me to control what I can control and to enjoy the ride. And that’s what I plan to do.
If you’re inclined shoot me some emails. Questions. Comments. Just to tell me I’m an idiot. All will be appreciated and responded to. My address is joe@joewearmouth.com.

My dad is driving the support car the next few weeks. And his one request today was to visit Cheers while we were in Boston. Nice to have somebody that knows your name. :-)
